Yes — a Pennsylvania CRNP may prescribe Adderall (amphetamine/dextroamphetamine), a Schedule II stimulant, if the CRNP has current prescriptive authority approval, prescribes within the CRNP’s specialty, and acts under a physician prescriptive authority collaborative agreement that includes the relevant drug categories and Schedule II authority.14
For Adderall specifically, the Schedule II prescription may not exceed a 30-day supply as identified in the collaborative agreement.2 The CRNP also must have DEA registration for controlled-substance prescribing and comply with Pennsylvania controlled-substance prescribing standards.3 The CRNP must also have completed the required 45 hours of advanced pharmacology coursework for prescriptive authority approval.
Pennsylvania PDMP checks may also be required, including before the first controlled-substance prescription for a patient and for each opioid or benzodiazepine prescription.5
Pennsylvania CRNPs may not prescribe Schedule I controlled substances or delegate prescriptive authority. This answer does not address Schedule V formulations because Pennsylvania Schedule V CRNP authority remains a verification flag in the source matrix.
