Yes — Pennsylvania CRNPs may prescribe Ritalin (methylphenidate), a Schedule II controlled substance,4 when they have current prescriptive authority approval,1 including at least 45 hours of advanced pharmacology coursework, and prescribe within their specialty and physician collaborative agreement.1

For Ritalin, the collaborative agreement must identify Schedule II authority, and the CRNP’s Schedule II prescription may not exceed a 30-day supply.2 A CRNP authorized to prescribe controlled substances must have DEA registration, and Pennsylvania PDMP query duties apply when required for controlled-substance prescribing.35

Pennsylvania CRNPs may not prescribe Schedule I controlled substances or delegate prescriptive authority, and this answer does not resolve Schedule V authority.
