Yes — Florida nurse practitioners with active Florida APRN licensure can prescribe tirzepatide when prescribing is within their specialty, competence, and scope and is authorized by an established supervisory protocol1, or when they hold and act within qualifying autonomous APRN primary-care authority2.

Tirzepatide is not a controlled substance. For a supervised Florida APRN, prescribing authority must be tied to an established protocol that authorizes drug prescribing.1 A qualifying autonomous APRN may prescribe without a physician protocol only within Florida’s defined primary-care scope, including family medicine, general pediatrics, and general internal medicine.2
