Yes — Texas NPs can prescribe tirzepatide when medication prescribing is delegated under a prescriptive authority agreement.12

For Texas APRNs, prescribing authority is physician-delegated: state law allows physicians to delegate prescribing or ordering drugs and devices to APRNs,2 and the prescriptive authority agreement defines the delegated authority and oversight.1 The NP’s tirzepatide prescribing must fit within the NP’s scope and the agreement.
