Florida law and Board guidance do not set a required number or percentage of charts that a supervising/collaborating physician must review for an APRN/NP.
Any chart review expectations, if used, should be defined within the APRN’s supervisory protocol. The Board’s sample APRN protocol notes that the APRN and supervising physician determine the protocol’s content and suggests including each party’s duties and any requirements for direct evaluation1. The Board also notes it no longer receives, reviews, or maintains protocols, underscoring that these details are arranged between the APRN and the supervising physician2.
