How many nurse practitioners can a physician supervise in Georgia?

Up to four. In Georgia, a delegating physician may have no more than four APRNs (including nurse practitioners) enter into nurse protocol agreements with them at any one time1. There is also a combined cap of eight mid-level practitioners—APRNs and physician assistants—per physician, with limited exceptions based on certain practice settings12.

These limits apply per delegating physician and should be reflected in staffing and protocol registrations. If you believe your practice setting may qualify for an exception, consult the rule and state FAQs for details and to ensure compliance12.
