How often must an NP and collaborating physician meet in Florida?

Florida does not require a set meeting frequency for an NP and collaborating physician. How often they meet is not specified in statute or Board rule; instead, APRN–physician collaboration operates within the framework of an established supervisory protocol that governs practice and responsibilities12.

Operational requirements focus on documentation and oversight rather than meetings. The supervisory protocol must be maintained at each practice location3, and physicians must notify the Board of Medicine within 30 days when entering into or terminating a protocol4. Additionally, APRNs who obtain Board approval for autonomous practice after meeting statutory experience and other requirements practice without a supervising physician in authorized settings, so no meeting requirement applies in that context5.
