A Connecticut NP can prescribe controlled substances. Connecticut APRNs may prescribe controlled substances in Schedules II–V1. During the first three years after initial licensure, when a written collaborative agreement with a physician is required, that agreement must specify the level of Schedule II and III controlled substances the APRN may prescribe2.
Prescription forms used by APRNs must include the APRN’s name, address, and telephone number; the form may also include the collaborating physician’s name if appropriate3.
