In Georgia, a collaborative agreement—called a nurse protocol agreement—must be reviewed, revised, and updated annually. The annual review requirement is set by the Georgia Board of Nursing1. The protocol must also include a current review date and a schedule for periodic review of patient records by the delegating physician2.
When changes are made, the delegating physician must file amendments with the Georgia Composite Medical Board within 30 days of execution3. Additionally, the Board may request the protocol agreement and supporting documentation at any time, and the parties must provide the requested materials within 30 days4.
