There is no specific statutory or regulatory process for ending a physician–NP written authorization. Michigan rules describe what a written authorization must include and require annual review with the review date noted, but they do not set termination procedures12.
In Michigan, a written authorization is the mechanism by which a physician may delegate controlled-substance prescribing to an APRN3. The delegating physician must keep the authorization at their primary place of practice and provide a copy to the APRN4, but the rules are silent on how the parties must terminate the arrangement.
