Currently serving as the Behavioral Health Equity Medical Director at Evernorth a division of the Cigna Group, I lead strategic initiatives to infuse health equity into clinical programs and drive personalized, inclusive services. As a seasoned leader, I have spearheaded process improvement initiatives, developed evidence-based protocols, and supervised multidisciplinary teams. With a strong foundation in clinical expertise, leadership, and a passion for community-based interventions, I am dedicated to transforming behavioral healthcare and promoting health equity for all. I am a board certified Family Medicine physician with 7.5 years post residency experience as an adult hospitalist. While I continue to work as a hospitalist, I have begun to work in the telemedicine/telehealth space including NP/PA collaborations. Currently I am working towards menopause and weight loss certifications to better serve the needs of patients.

I am an obgyn with a passion for women's health. I have been in practice for over 20 years and in the telehealth space for approximately 4 years. I have held leadership roles in healthcare and want to expand my reach when it comes to access, education and health equity. I have extensive practice with hormonal health in midlife (PCOS, peri/menopause, weight loss, skin health and sexual health).

Dr. Whitehead began his higher education at Chipola College where he was a founding member of the Chipola PreMed Society and the groundbreaking ACE lab. He would go on to graduate from the Florida State University with Honors, majoring in Classics and a minor in Chemistry. While at FSU Dr. Whitehead defended his thesis of the history of malaria in the ancient world as part of FSU’s Honors in the Major program. He was early accepted into the Florida State University College of Medicine where he received his medical degree. Dr. Whitehead was involved with the Family Medicine Scholars Program as well as the Rural Medicine Interest Group. After graduation from the College of Medicine, Dr. Whitehead completed his residency in Family Medicine with the TMH Family Medicine Residency Program where he served as Chief Resident. During this time he also become the only resident in the country to complete his senior year of residency while simultaneously completing an HIV Specialist fellowship program. In his role as medical director for a local HIV and primary care healthcare center, he cares for individuals living with HIV in the Florida Panhandle, South Alabama, and Mississippi Gulf Coast. He also serves as the principal investigator in ongoing clinical trials in the North Florida region. He is a clerkship faculty member for the Florida State University College of Medicine.
